Our Iron Age day
We went to the Chiltern Open Air Museum for our Iron Age Day.
Year 4 had a brilliant day out learning about what it was like to live in the Iron Age. We visited a round house which was very smokey. We made a wattle fence, ground flour, made bread, butter and pinch pots.
We also learnt how archeologists find out about the past. Our favourite activity was searching poo (don't worry it wasn't really poo!) for evidence of what Iron Age people ate.
We worked in teams to build shelters (see the picture above).
It was quite exciting because whilst we were there they were filming about Anglo Saxon times and we saw lots of people in costumes.
