Mary Temperton - Chair to Governors
I am privileged to be the Chair of the Governing Body and serve on both the committees and have been involved as a Governor of the school for over 20 years and am proud of all we have achieved. I was a Science teacher at EP school for 22 years and now teach science to the' Science Clubs' on a Tuesday morning. I also help run the club for year 3 children to raise their self-esteem. Our children run the School Council themselves, but I act as their adviser and coordinator. I enjoy working with the children and being an active member of the school community.
I am a Councillor for Great Hollands on both Bracknell Forest and Bracknell Town Councils.
Keith Stapylton – Progress and Partnership Chair
I am one of the community governors at Great Hollands Primary School. I have lived on Great Hollands since the early 1970s, and taught in the then junior school when it opened. Retirement from paid work has given me the opportunity to pursue some voluntary activities, including working in school with the older children on different projects, and joining the governing body. I am chair of the governors’ Progress and Partnership Committee, which looks at community links, and the progress of the children across the school and nursery. Governors work in partnership with Mr Ferris and his colleagues to decide how best to work with parents and carers to get all our children enjoying school, and making good progress, socially, behaviourally and academically. It is a matter of real pride that Ofsted have recognised all the work that the school is doing, by rating it as ‘good’ in the last inspection.
Julie Taylor - Management and Resources Chair
I moved to Bracknell Forest with my family three years ago and both my children attend Great Hollands Primary School. I sit on the governing body for the school as a Co-opted Governor and I am Chair of the Management & Finance Committee. To this I bring my 21 year's experience in the banking industry where I was a Manager looking after a portfolio of business accounts. I work closely with the other governors, the head teacher and his dedicated team to bring about the sustained success of our school and its role in the community. I am proud to be able to serve Great Hollands in this way and I am determined that we will continue to be able to deliver our ambitious vision for the school.
