Wellbeing and Mental Health
At Great Hollands Primary School, we are dedicated to supporting all our children and their families.
We compiled our Weekly Wellbeing Newsletters during lockdowns when children were not in school, which gave some helpful advice and information to help our families. These can be found at the bottom of this page.
Zones of Regulation Workshop
We were very pleased to welcome Dr Beth Turner, an Educational Psychologist to school to deliver a workshop on the Zones of Regulation. As part of our whole-school approach to supporting children's emotional wellbeing, we use the Zones of Regulation to help pupils identify and understand their feelings, develop strategies to regulate their emotions, and build their own personalised regulation toolkits.
The PowerPoint presentation from the session can be found below:
Link to Zones of Regulation PowerPoint
We are sharing the workshop PowerPoint with all our families to provide an overview of the Zones of Regulation and to help you consider how this approach could support your child at home as well as at school. By using a common language to talk about emotions, children can become more self-aware, improve their emotional regulation skills, and develop greater confidence in managing everyday challenges. We hope you find the information useful and encourage you to explore the presentation with your child.
